On the 9th – 11 August 2024, the Diocese of Kimberley and Kuruman had their Diocesan Family Weekend hosted by the Archdeaconry of Kgalagadi. On the 9th, Youth had Imbizo at the Parish of St Paul’s Mothibistad.
Opening prayer was done by Br Oarabile Gopane, and the Welcoming was done by the Diocesan Youth Council Deputy President Bro Thabiso Mokgele.
The youth gathered to talk about being young in these trying times. They also enjoyed Bishop Brian’s presence, asked questions, and had healthy debates, of which there were topics allocated to the Archdeaconries across the Diocese for the presentation
Bishop was encouraging young people on the life of the church and emphasised briefly on the 5 F’s of the family weekend.
There was an organisation that came for the motivation, which emphasised more on the life at tertiary institutions and post that.
Overall, the Youth Imbizo was attended by more than 160 members
