The Diocese of Christ the King held a Youth fun day on the 15th of June 2024 at Masibambane College in Orange Farm.
The day started just after 9am with a short praise and worship session in the school’s hall. Thereafter we proceeded to the sports ground for the activities of the day. These activities included soccer for guys, netball for ladies and socializing/networking.
The first games for netball and soccer began simultaneously just after 10am where Archdeaconry of All Saints went head-on with Archdeaconry of Christ the Resurrection on both categories. For soccer, Archdeaconry of All Saints was defeated by Christ the Resurrection and Archdeaconry of All Saints won on the netball side. Thereafter Archdeaconry of St Cyprians played against Archdeaconry of Holy Nativity and won on both categories.
The two Archdeaconries that lost then played for third place, soccer – archdeaconry of All Saints and Archdeaconry of Holy Nativity and Archdeaconry of All Saints won. Then finals played and Archdeaconry of Christ the Resurrection was crowned the winners for soccer and Archdeaconry of St Cyprians for netball.
It was indeed a blessed day for the youth as we saw churches from Bophelong all the way through to Turffontein represented. We were also blessed by the presence of the Archdeaconry of All Saints archdeacon Ven. Mpho Mohale, the Diocesan Youth Chaplain Revd Thembile Manene, parents and church Wardens and Councils from various parishes.
We would like to thank the Diocesan Youth Council for such a great day and continue to pray for them.
A big thank you to Ms Karabo Ntsepe for the Shield promotional items.
Yours in Christ,
Timothy Nkhi
