The event, organized by the Diocesan Young People’s Ministry Council (DYPMC), was a remarkable success, drawing enthusiastic participation from youth across the diocese. This event took place on the 15th of June, 2024, at All Saints Cathedral, Somerset West.
The service was presided over by the Bishop, the Right Reverend Stafford, who also delivered an inspiring sermon that resonated deeply with the attendees. The presence of several clergy members added to the solemnity and significance of the occasion. The cathedral was filled to capacity, with youth from various archdeaconries of the diocese coming together in a spirit of unity and devotion. The atmosphere was vibrant and spiritually uplifting, thanks in large part to the participation of various choirs and liturgical groups who provided beautiful and inspiring music throughout the service.
We were particularly honored to have the Provincial President of AYSA, Canon Lulama Ntuta, in attendance. Her presence was a true blessing and added great significance to the event. Her engagement with the youth and the broader community was deeply appreciated.
During the service, two chaplains were licensed, one for the DYPMC and one for the Girls and Boys Friendly Society (GBFS). This moment was a highlight of the day, marking a significant step in supporting the spiritual guidance and development of our youth.
Everyone in attendance seemed to have had a great time throughout the service, and the turnout was outstanding overall. The occasion enhanced the ties that bind our diocesan community while also encouraging spiritual growth.
In conclusion, the Diocesan Youth Day Service was a resounding success, and we are grateful
for the efforts of all who contributed to its planning and execution. We look forward to
future events that continue to nurture and inspire our youth.
Yours faithfully,
Lubabalo Qosi
