Diocese of Zululand Hosts Inspiring Insika Conference for Young Adults

The Diocese’s Insika Conference took center stage this past weekend, drawing a spirited gathering of young adults aged 25 and upwards to the St. Margaret Parish Anglican Church in Mafihleng, Nquthu Archdeaconry.

The conference, held under the theme inspired by Philippians 4:1, offered a platform for reflection, learning, and community building among the youth.

Empowering Discussions and Skill Development

One of the key highlights of the conference was the address by Dr. Mthethwa, who focused on the theme of “Skills Opportunities.” Dr. Mthethwa’s presentation was designed to equip attendees with practical insights and resources for personal and professional development. Dr’s talk emphasised the importance of acquiring skills that are crucial in today’s rapidly changing job market.

Addressing Youth Challenges

The conference also tackled pressing issues faced by young adults, including unemployment, Gender Based Violence, Depression and relationship dynamics. Discussions provided valuable perspectives on overcoming these challenges and fostering resilience. The sessions aimed to offer practical solutions and support for young people navigating these complex aspects of their lives.

Farewell to a Respected Leader

In a poignant moment, the conference marked a significant farewell to the former chaplain Father Sabelo Mncwango now serving as the dean, who was honoured for their years of dedicated service to the diocesan youth.

Looking Ahead

The conference, guided by the theme from Philippians 4:1, encouraged young adults to remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to personal growth.

It served as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of continued support and development for the next generation of leaders.

As the conference concluded, participants left with renewed energy and a deeper sense of purpose, ready to face their personal and professional challenges with the knowledge and inspiration gained from the event.
