Focusing on growing the church through grooming young people, the youth ministry went beyond borders reaching out not only to the East London Archdeaconries , but expanding to others around the Diocese of Grahamstown as well.
For the young people in this ministry, Fridays and public holidays are no longer days for rest but for ministering, fellowship and worship. St Barnabas Parish in Port Alfred opened its doors for the youth ministry and gave a platform for group discussions on how young people view the church. Topics on the role of the youth in the church were amongst the discussions and also questions on what they could change, given a chance. For more on these discussions, videos are uploaded on the youth ministry page on Facebook (Anglican Youth ministry-East London)
Reverend Godukile Mbolekwa (Rector of St Barnabas) and Reverend Sinje Njokweni from Holy Trinity in King William’s Town, encouraged and motivated these young people on the great work of serving the Lord through this ministry.
A word of gratitude goes out to everyone who supported the trip by donations, making sure that every need was provided for.
The next revival will be held at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Mdantsane on Friday 20th September at 17h00. Don’t miss out on being revived through worship and sharing of God’s word.
